Fatal Fire Update

The land owner who perished in a field fire in rural Tampico on Thursday has been identified as 89 year old, Curtis D. Verney of Sterling, Illinois.

Field Fire Turns Deadly.

Several area farmers took to their fields on Thursday to burn off old growth especially along drainage ditches.  That task turned deadly for a land owner outside of Tampico, Illinois on Thursday.
