A Football Tradition (video)00:00 AM September 12, 2017
"Friday Night Lights" is often bandied about as the pinnacle of the week for any high school football program. However, the EP Panthers have a tradition that comes in as a solid second as a highlight of each week of the football season.
Many years ago, as a player, Panther head coach Chuck Milem's mom started inviting team members over to their house for a meal after Thursday's practice. The tradition has grown from there and each season a group of player parents serve a weekly meal to the entire football team and staff.
This year Rhonda Misfeldt, Kim Purvis, LaMonica Henrekin, Tammy Tegeler, and Nicky Friedrichsen have taken on the challenge of finding enough food to feed about seventy players and staff each Thursday.
