Aviation Career Day to be held October 21 from 10 AM – 2 PM.
ROCK FALLS, ILL – The Whiteside County Airport will host its first Aviation Career Day on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 10 AM – 2 PM. United Airlines and partner carrier ExpressJet Airlines will be flying in a 50 passenger, Embraer 145 Regional Jet that will be on display during the event and offering exclusive tours of the airplane and flight deck to persons interested in aviation. Multiple other aircraft will also be on display including Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Cessna 172 training airplane, University of Dubuque’s Piper Seminole twin engine training airplane, an air ambulance helicopter, crop spraying aircraft, local area aviation business’ training airplanes, as well as many others.
United Airlines will have pilots, flight attendants, and operations personnel available to answer questions about their career fields and ExpressJet Airlines will be actively recruiting pilots and mechanics. Chicago Rockford International Airport Air Traffic Controllers and Airport Operations personnel will also be available to answer questions. The Whiteside Civil Air Patrol will be actively recruiting cadets and officers for its program.
