Downtown Building Crumbling

November 01, 2017

A section of brick is exposed after plaster covering it
came loose and fell to the sidewalk and street below.

Falling plaster from the north wall of the Prophetstown Historical Society's building has caused the city to close a sidewalk and a few parking spots on Third Street.  The plaster began falling last weekend with larger pieces coming down in the last two days.

The plaster covers bricks located above the second story windows.  A contractor has been contacted to remedy the situation

Chunks of plaster litter the sidewalk after falling from the
Prophetstown Historical Society's building.
