The Prophetstown-Lyndon-Hooppole food pantry is sponsored by the Prophetstown area Ministerial Association. The purpose of this food pantry is to provide free food to area residents experiencing financial difficulty.

The pantry is located at the American Legion Hall at 215 Washington St. directly across from Shaw’s Marketplace in Prophetstown.

Hours of operation are Tuesday mornings from 9 - 11 and the first Tuesday of every month from 5 - 6 p.m. They will also open for an emergency situation. The food pantry is designed to serve families on a monthly basis.

Election of officers is held every January. Regular board meetings are held by bi-monthly.

Officers for 2017 are:

Manager-Ron Buck

Secretary- Pat Crump

Treasurer- Lori Poloenzke

The Pantry is operated by a staff of dedicated volunteers. Recenlty Barb Siefert moved from the community and served the pantry for 30 years.

During the past year the pantry has assisted about 60 families a month with a total of 250 family members. While the pantry cannot possibly give families all the food needed for the whole month, they can make a difference.

Their goal is that no one should go hungry. Please help support them when you can.  For additional information you may call 815-537-2555.
