October 11, 2017

Last Saturday afternoon Good Samaritan Society's  Prophets Riverview Center celebrated its 50th anniversary of operation.  The staff ,residents, family, and friends enjoyed an afternoon of food and and activities.  Due to the rain a few of the events had to be moved indoors, but the celebration went off as planned.

Interim Administrator, Gail Blocker, led a program after a lunch which featured hot dogs and burgers cooked by maintenance supervisor Brian Smith. Resident Council President, Shirley Decker, led a prayer and hymns were sung by all attending.

Rev. Andy Ploenzke of the First Congregational United Church Of Christ Prophetstown shared a message and prayed for the well being of the society and that it continue its mission of serving the elderly population with Christian dignity and respect.

Both children and adults enjoyed face painters, a photo booth, carnival games and the music of the Reflex Blues Band.
