Prophetstown Public Works Department employees, Donnie Jensen and Clint Morse add lights to one of the downtown buildings.

Holiday Lighting Hung

November 21, 2017

The star at the end of Washington
Street will be lit again after many years.

The Prophetstown Public Works Department has been busy over the past week hanging the holiday lights from the buildings on Main Street.  The new tradition began last year and was well received by the community.

In addition to the lights downtown the city has also restored the star that sits at the T intersection of Washington St. and Riverside Dr.  The star has been dark for many years, but will be illuminated for the Christmas Parade and throughout the holiday season. Richard Maronde donated the new light bulbs for the star.

The Love Light Tree and the pine trees on the vacant lot in downtown are also getting their lights installed this week courtesy of IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union.
