Leaves Problem Being Addressed

November 24, 2017

Prophetstown Mayor Steve Swanson announced today that the city's street sweeper has broken down and that is why residents may be seeing more leaves on the streets.

Swanson posted, "I am very sure that many have noticed leaves in the gutters and in the streets in many cases. Normally we try to keep them swept up as best we can, but this fall it looks like we are going to be unable to do it. The old sweeper has broken down and we're not quite sure when it will be going again."

The mayor went on to say that sweeper may have to be scrapped due to its age and the city will either have to buy a new one or may rent one on a temporary basis.

The mayor and the city appreciate your patience.
