Lyndon is in the midst of making repairs to its #2 well. Public Works Director John Wright discovered a few weeks ago the amount of flow from the well was much lower than normal and could cause a major issue if there were to be a problem with well #1.
The village held an emergency meeting on August 11 to authorize funds for a repair.
On Tuesday the well was disassembled to find the cause. It was determined that a check valve in the well's pipe was malfunctioning restricting the flow. A new part has been ordered and after the 900 foot well is reassembled and tested it will be put back in service.
