For the second year in a row the EP Panther and Fulton Steamer softball teams participated in the Red Line-Blue Line game. This year the game was played in Prophetstown with the festivities starting an hour before game time.
The purpose of the special night is to recognize police, fire, and first responders from the teams’ hometowns and to raise money for their benefit. T-shirts were sold prior to the game and several silent auction items were donated along with raffles and special concessions.
Members of each team escorted their guest of honor from second base to home plate to be reognized. Numerous emergency vehicles were parked beyond the outfield fence representing the various departments being honored. Funds raised from the game were divided among the various departments.
The game was played under the lights with the Steamers winning the game 7-4 in extra innings.
