Stewart Named PLT #3 Principal

In a special PLT#3  board meeting held on Tuesday night, the board hired Keith Stewart to fill the newly created 6 -12 Principal position. Stewart will be in charge of curriculum and building improvement.  A second position, the 6-12  Dean of Students/Activities Director (athletic director) has not yet been hired.

 

Stewart is a 2006 graduate of Prophetstown High School and graduated from Greenville College (Illinois) with a degree in Secondary Language Arts Education in 2010.  Stewart was hired by Erie High School and has taught English courses for the past eight years.

 

He received a Masters Degree in English from Western Illinois University in 2013 and completed his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership last December from Western.  Erie High School Principal Tim McConnell served as Stewart's internship mentor

 

On being hired Stewart said, "I'm looking forward to working with the staff and students at PHS and PLTMS as we pursue excellence together."  He will begin his duties on July 1st.  

 

Stewart lives in Prophetstown with his wife Shae and their three children, Hollyn, Jordyn, and Ethan.

    Keith Stewart is awsome. I worked with him at Greenville University when he was Student Body President. He has an old soul and enduring love for his friends, family and students. A great decision!
