To the People of Prophetstown
I am writing on behalf of Lyle Armstrong who is a candidate for Fire Trustee of Prophetstown’s Fire Protection District. It has been my great pleasure to know Lyle over the past 6 years as a fireman, friend and as an extremely personable man. In my experience, Lyle is dependable, likable, loyal, honest, enthusiastic and realistic in his expectations.
Lyle's excellent communication skills, positive outlook and pleasing personality enhance his natural leadership qualities. Lyle's willingness to accept challenges and listen to input enable him to contribute thoughtful, well-reasoned approaches to helping others solve difficult problems.
I am familiar with Lyle's involvement in a variety of projects that demonstrate his continuing deep commitment to the Prophetstown Fire Protection District. For example, Lyle has spent a total of 23 years as a Prophetstown Fire Protection District firefighter. During that same period in 2003 & 2009 he took part on the village of Lyndon board as a trustee , only stepping down because he took the position of Lyndon’s fire Captain. He held the Captain’s spot for a total of 12 years. Also amongst the 23 years, he has been noted in his duties and received the firefighter of the year award two times, once in 1996 and again in 2002. Remarkably he still continues to grow his knowledge in the fire world by taking classes to gain his Hazmat, Firefighter II and Instructor certificates also. All while doing this as a volunteer, he still maintains his loyalty to his local community for his hard work and dedication he has had to the Lyndon Progress Center since 1992.
In my opinion this man would personally give you the shirt off of his back even if that left him with nothing. He is an outstanding citizen and has been nothing short of great to his peers, both in and out of the fire department. I believe that Lyle will be a great addition to the Fire Protection District Trustee board and he will take their situations as they come and weigh out all ideas before making a decision with the fellow trustees on the board.
I believe Lyle to be an excellent candidate for Fire Trustee and have no doubt he will prove a valuable asset to you and to your town. Please take all of this into consideration when voting on April 4th, 2017
