Tampico Elementary Celebrates Reading (photos)

Tampico Elementary School held its fourth annual Reading Fair on Thursday night in the school gym.  The night is patterned after a science fair, but with books and the option to dress in character.

Students had the choice to work as individuals or with a partner.   Every child who attended got to choose a free book, and those who had Reading Fair entries were given a free Pizza Hut dinner from our concession stand.

The award winners at the Reading Fair were
picked by a panel of judges.

The TEA generously donated the prize money for the winners again this year.

The panel of judges consisted of former TES first-grade teacher, Jolene Kelly, PLT District Librarian, Laura Crisp, Special Education Teacher, Nancy Henegar, and Third Grade Teacher, Teri Schlindwein.

The  committee of teachers and staff who volunteered did an excellent job in helping to make the night possible.
