The church will host “A Night with Corrie Ten Boom,” who will come alive in a first-person portrayal by Gayle Haas of Aurora, IL. You will be stirred by her dramatic presentation and PowerPoint display. She shares Corrie’s experiences while growing up with her family in Haarlem, Holland, and later, during the family’s commitment to hide and aid Jews in their efforts to escape Nazi capture during WWII. Their efforts would eventually lead to the family’s capture and Carrie’s imprisonment in a Nazi death camp.
The public is encouraged to attend this free program in the sanctuary. Men, women, and children will be inspired by this powerful and timely message of love and forgiveness.
Preceding the program, the “Annual Mother/Daughter/Friend Banquet” will take place in Fellowship Hall, starting at 6 p.m. Fulton Meat Market will serve a catered dinner to females of all ages. Call the church office at 815-772-2472 with questions or to purchase dinner tickets by Sunday, May 5. Adults are $10 and children 5-12 are $5.
