Under a first time varsity coach the EP Panther football program opened its 2018 camp this week in Erie. Jesse Abbott takes over the head job after Chuck Milem resigned to take an administrative position in Macomb, Illinois.
From June 12-14th, the Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico FFA Chapter attended the 90th annual Illinois FFA State Convention held in Springfield. The local chapter took 5 members to the state’s capitol for three days.
The Panther boys's golf team will play their home meets and practice at Lake Erie Country Club with the girls' team calling Prophet Hills their home. The tentative plan is to have the teams swap locations next season.
During the three day convention state awards are presented. This year the Agricultural Education State Proficiency Winner was chapter president, Hailey Mickelson who is the daughter of Denise Mickelson of Tampico.
The fall of 2018 will bring a new principal to Prophetstown High School and Middle School and with a new principal comes new changes. Next year, the new principal, Mr. Keith Stewart, plans to add a new program to the school. The program is called Jostens Renaissance.
