Statewide candidate Bryan Drew, Republican nominee for the open Illinois Comptroller position, has confirmed attendance as well as Max Solomon, who won a historic write-in primary election campaign on his way to becoming the Republican nominee for Illinois Treasurer. Other state and local candidates will be on hand to meet and greet with the public.
Darren Bailey, Republican nominee for Governor, said: “I’m looking forward to joining families and neighbors at the Ogle County Fair to talk about the future of Illinois. Events like this are an important reminder that good government starts by listening to the people, and I appreciate the Lee and Ogle County Republicans for bringing our statewide ticket together to meet voters where they are.”
The event will be free at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 1st to anyone attending the annual Ogle County Fair. It will be near the Republican tent at the Ogle County Fairgrounds, which is located at 1440 N Limekiln Rd in Oregon. Attendees are encouraged to enjoy the Ogle County Fair before and after the event, including food available for purchase from vendors.
“This is a fun, community-focused opportunity for Republicans to introduce their nominees to the public here in Lee and Ogle Counties. As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, it is important for us to take time to do our civic duty as citizens and research those who wish to lead our state.” said Lee County GOP Chairman Li Arellano, Jr. Ogle County GOP Chairman Mike Koolidge added: “It is also important that our part of Illinois be heard, and this event will give thousands of people direct access to Republican nominees for statewide office.”
The Lee & Ogle GOP Summer Event will alternate locations between the two counties each year. Inspired by America 250, the Lee & Ogle GOP Summer Event focuses on strengthening civic and political engagement — essential to America’s model of self-governance.
For members of the public who want to attend but would like help covering the cost of a ticket into the Ogle County Fair, the Lee County Republican Central Committee and Ogle County Republican Central Committee will reimburse the first 100 attendees for the cost of a daily admission ticket on Saturday, August 1st. Anyone interested in reimbursed admission can email their request to info@oglecountygop.org. Reimbursement will be issued the week after, following confirmed attendance to the Lee & Ogle GOP Summer Event on August 1st at the Ogle County Fair.
