Ronald S. Lohman, 73, of Erie, IL, died Monday, December 25, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Celebration of Life Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, December 29th at the Erie Christian Church. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Thursday at the Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Erie. Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Erie Christian Church or Erie Christian Church Youth Fund.
Ron was born April 23, 1944 in Moline, IL, the son of Herbert and Mary Jane (Atwood) Lohman. He graduated from Riverdale High School, Port Byron. He was proud to have made Eagle Scout. Ron married Pamela Brandenburg on August 1, 1964 in Hillsdale, IL. Ron was a lifelong farmer. Farming was his passion which he enjoyed doing with his son Greg and grandson Joshua up until the end.
He was a longtime member of the Erie Christian Church where he served as a Youth Sponsor for the High School Youth for 16 years and was an Elder and a Deacon. Ron also sold seed corn for various companies for 53 years. Ron enjoyed their winters in Mission, TX and spending time with his family fishing at the Wisconsin Dells. His hobbies included, reading, playing cards with the family and collecting antique tractors. He will be remembered for his sense of humor which he kept to the end.
Ron is survived by his wife, Pam; daughter, Jody (Mark) Heppner, Erie; son, Greg (Suzie) Lohman, Port Byron; brothers, Richard (Mary) Lohman, Eldridge, David Lohman, Hillsdale; grandchildren, Andrew Heppner, Ashley (John) Richter, Brandon Heppner, Michael, Matthew, and Joshua Lohman; and one great grandson, Landon Heppner.
