Prophetstown City Council; Short and Sweet

00:00 AM January 11, 2018

In an extremely short meeting, mayor pro tem Danny Baker led the council through the passing of two ordinances.

The council approved a resolution to give power to the mayor to work cooperatively with other municipalities when seeking bids for electrical aggregation rates.

A request from the Prophetstown Fire Protection District for rezoning of their property was sent to the planning commission. They are seeking the request in conjunction with their expansion plans.

Approval was given for a state-mandated amending of the sexual harassment policy, currently used in the city employee handbook.

The library is also considering holding a monthly movie night for children after their initial event was highly successful. New windows are currently being installed in the basement of the building.

Prophetstown Main Street reminded everyone of their upcoming trivia night on Saturday, February 24. Anyone interested in signing up the team is asked to contact the Main Street office or check their Facebook page.
