EP senior, Eden Jensen has become the latest member of the Class of '26 to sign to continue to play a sport at the college level next season.

The 6′ 1″ post player signed her letter of intent witnessed by her family and teammates at Prophetstown High School. The senior said she always hoped to play either volleyball or basketball in college. “I know I can improve so much in basketball. I just love the game and I’m not ready to be done yet!”

The multi-sport athlete said she is excited for the opportunity. “I’ve participated in volleyball and basketball all four years of high school and I’ve played softball my whole life. Basketball has been my favorite by far, I loved being around my teammates and my coaches. Coach Brown has believed in me and supported me not just throughout basketball, but also volleyball and softball. He really grew my love for the game and I’ll miss having him as a coach!”

Jensen will take her talents to SVCC as she is a part of the SVCC Impact Program, which allows students to earn tuition credit by performing community service during their high school years and she wanted to play close to home.

SVCC women’s basketball head coach, Jim Nugent commented on Jensen’s signing. “Eden will be a great fit into our family and culture at SVCC because of her character, work ethic, and the ability to shift when faced with adversity.  Eden has a team first mentality, which is what we value and will make those around her better.  She fits our program not just because of her talent, but because of who she is as a person- hardworking, coachable, and a great teammate.”

Lady Panther basketball coach Chris Brown said he is happy for his senior. “We are super excited that Eden will be continuing her basketball career at Sauk next year! During the course of last year myself and Eden had multiple conversations about playing at the next level and what would be the best way to achieve that goal. I told her that she is smart enough and athletic enough to let this sport pay for her college tuition in the future. Eden had a very nice season for us and was a big reason that we had a successful season and helped leading us to our best overall record over the past few years! I’m confident that Eden will be a nice addition to Sauks team over the next few seasons. The sky is the limit for Eden and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.”

“I would like to thank my parents for all of the support and my sister for being there for me, said the new Skyhawk. “I would also like to thank SVCC Asst. Coach Kiley Johnson for helping me throughout this whole process of becoming a Skyhawk!”
