Back Road Pullers Inc., is based in West Central Illinois and has been bringing quality shows around the region since 2021. Their 2026 season kicked off in Erie with the FFA Pull in May, and will end on Sunday at the same location: Bos Brothers Historical Farm in Erie. Pullers will take to the field for the competition at 1 p.m.
According to the Truck & Tractor Pulling Association, the goal of a tractor pull is to pull a metal sled the farthest distance possible down a track that is at least 30 feet wide and 300 feet long. The sled starts as a rolling weight, but as it moves, a mechanical system shifts a heavy weight box forward over the wheels, increasing the downward friction and resistance and making the load heavier the further it travels. If a vehicle manages to pull the sled all the way to the end of the track, it is called a “full pull.” If multiple competitors achieve this, a “pull-off” with a heavier sled weight determines the ultimate winner.
Sunday’s show will feature muscle tractor plows that will make one pass down the field. Classes include Stock Gas Trucks, Stock Diesel Trucks, Limited Diesel Trucks, Improved Farm Stock, 12,000lb King of 15MPH, 12,500lb 12MPH, 12,000lb Open Speed, and more. Cash prizes will be awarded the first place winners.
Entry to the Farm Show and Truck & Tractor Pull is free, so come and experience the exciting action! Bleacher seating is provided and plenty of food, drinks, and other amenities are located on the showgrounds.
