A few local recreational sites are currently off-limits due to moderate flooding on the Rock River.

Prophetstown State Recreation Area, Glenn Miller Marina, and Erie Campground, Inc. were inaccessible over the weekend due to high water and large debris in the parking lots.

The flooding comes after a few waves of heavy rains this past week, with the Rock cresting Saturday just above moderate flood stage. This week’s forecast has limited chances for precipitation.

Once water levels go down, crews will need to remove debris and clean up the roadways. The campsites are mostly out of the flood zone, just inaccessible while the roads are under water.
