The business has been at 319 Washington St. since opening in 2020, but owner Amy Misfeldt was renting the location, which limited her ability to make enhancements to the building. In April, she was able to purchase the building that housed Ann’s Hair Salon and now has more space to grow the business, as well as a handicap accessible restroom.

After a moving sale in May, Misfeldt and store manager Olivia Pearson had a week and a half to move out of the old location and get set up in the new one. Their last open day across the street was May 25, and they officially opened at their new space on Wednesday, June 5.

The newest addition to the business is a coffee bar and drink area that should be up and running within the next few weeks. The menu will include coffees, energy drinks, and flavored lemonades, which will be something new for the downtown district.

The business continues to offer fresh floral arrangements and bouquets, memorials, plant décor, balloons, clothing, jewelry, accessories, EP Panther gear, candles, soaps, dessert and dip mixes, jars of sauces, salsas, and jams, and other gift items. They also provide flower delivery to Prophetstown, Tampico, Lyndon, Hooppole, Morrison, Rock Falls, and Sterling area.

Another unique part of the new location is that it still incorporates the hair salon, just in a smaller area. Hair stylist Ashleigh McEvoy has a small suite in the building for her appointments. Call her at 815-590-5706 to set up yours!

For now, Blooms-A-Latte hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m.-noon on Saturdays, though they’re planning on extending their hours once the drink area is open. Check out or follow them on Facebook for updates and more, including a grand reopening event, which is still in the works and yet to be announced.
