Coach Kyle Foster said his team continued to play at a top level on both sides of the ball. “We were led offensively by QB-Justin Pierceson, RB- Noah Berk, and WR- Kaleb Thompson. Really, the credit has to go to our offensive line for our ability to produce as well as we do. We have consistently been able to create clean running lanes, and that is a testament to how well they learn and how hard they practice.”
EP quarterback, Justin Pierceson found Kaleb Thompson for a 45-yard score to put the Panthers up 7-0, early. EP added on at the end of the first quarter as Anden Kochevar went 12 yards around the left end for a 14-0 EP lead.
Following a Newman score, Pierceson electrified the crowd with a 43-yard dash around the right edge. The quarterback would end the game collecting a 96 yards on the ground.
With a 21-6 lead Pierceson found Kaleb Thompson in the endzone for a second time as he snagged a 14-yard toss to grow the EP lead to 28-6.
“Defensively we continued to stifle our opponents,” said Foster. “Outside of a late score in the fourth quarter, the only real big play Newman was able to achieve was a tight end pass coming out of a timeout. Overall, our defense keeps putting together strong outings and holding our opponents to little production.”
EP Stats
QB Justin Pierceson: 4 of 6 passing, 61 yds and 2 TDs, 96 yds rushing
RB Noah Berk: 48 yds rushing on 7 carries, 1 TD
Slot Receiver Kaleb Thompson: 2 catches for 49 yds and 2 TDs.
The coach is enjoying the benefits that come with large margin wins. “We have been blessed so far being able to get every kid into every game, which says a lot about the work our first team has been able to do. They take care of business, which gives our second and third string guys the chance to get meaningful reps each week. Hopefully that trend can continue moving forward.”
The young Panthers will travel to Orion next Monday.
“We keep preaching to these guys to stay humble, stay hungry, and send a message to our conference. So far they have successfully sent four messages, but their job isn’t done. Message #5 comes next Monday at Orion!” added Foster.
