This year’s youth golf clinic was led once again by Kevin Kwak, local PGA instructor & Head Coach of St. Ambrose University Women’s Golf program. The youth clinic helps boys and girls ages 6-18 practice and develop their golf skills, boost their confidence, get them active outdoors, and have fun while interacting with others with weekly contests, family scrambles, and driving, chipping, and putting contests. The clinic has been a tradition at the course for years, thanks to the leadership of former PHCC board member Myron Hofmeister, who retired as the instructor in 2024.
The weekly clinic started June 2nd and concluded July 28th with the Youth Day Tournament that featured a family scramble for the little ones and a tournament for the older kids. After a fun morning on the course, the clinic officially ended with a pizza party provided by Gibson Oil Co. of Lyndon and a trophy presentation.
Prophet Hills Country Club gives “a huge thank you to all participants, parents, staff, and Coach Kwak! Special thanks to St. Ambrose Ladies golfer Ellie Rude! And shout out to Gibson Oil Co. in Lyndon, Illinois for the pizza party! We are so proud to continue this tradition at Prophet Hills. Providing some wonderful golf instruction along the way, creating memories that will last a life time, and friends. That’s what the game is all about. We look forward to watching these area youth continue the game.”
