Resthave Welcomes Community to Family Fun Day

Submitted

MORRISON — Laughter, smiles and plenty of activity filled the grounds of Resthave on Sunday, September 27th as families and community members came together for Resthave’s annual Community Family Fun Day.

Held at Resthave, 408 Maple Avenue, over 600 people enjoyed the free event which welcomed people of all ages for an afternoon filled with games, activities, food and, most importantly, quality family time together.

From the youngest visitors to Resthave residents and grandparents, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Children bounced their way through the bounce houses, climbed and played on the dome rocker, created crafts, enjoyed balloon art and had their faces transformed with colorful face painting.

Guests also took part in hula hoop, jump rope and skip-bo contests, played bags and enjoyed Frisbee fun. A cookie walk provided another favorite activity, while giant balloons added to the festive atmosphere.

Of course, no family event would be complete without plenty of food. Guests enjoyed hot dogs, beans, pork chops, chips, Sno-Cones, popcorn and cotton candy.

“We love having the opportunity to bring the community together for a day where everyone can simply enjoy quality family time together,” said Resthave. “We especially love seeing different generations having fun side-by-side. Our Community Family Fun Day is about bringing generations together, and creating memories. Because the event is free, families don’t have to worry about the cost — they can just come, have fun and enjoy the day.”

That inter-generational connection is one of the things that makes the event so special. Resthave residents were able to watch the excitement and interact with families and children, while younger generations had the opportunity to spend time with older members of the community.

A special thank-you goes to the many generous sponsors who helped make Community Family Fun Day possible. Without their generosity and support, Resthave would not be able to offer this special day to families in the community. Their contributions help provide the activities, food, entertainment and fun that make the event such a memorable experience. Resthave is truly grateful for the businesses, organizations and individuals who continue to believe in the importance of bringing families and generations together.

A special thank you to gold and emerald sponsors: BCI Blackburn, American Piping – Vegter Steel, Zaagman Farms, Resthave, Jordan Health Care Group, Linda Kaiser, and Judy Conboy.

“Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces is what makes all of the planning and hard work worthwhile,” Resthave shared. “We are grateful to everyone who came out and helped make the day such a success.”

Resthave extends its appreciation to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, helped organize the event and helped make the day such a success.
