The tournament was shortened to 9 holes due to the brutal temperatures and the boys knew that ahead of time.
Illini West from Carthage won the event with a 4 person total of 146 over the par 36 back nine holes. Macomb was second with 161 while EP and Orion tied at 163. Bryson Grotts of the winning squad was individual medalist with a 2 under 34.
EP’s lone senior, Sawyer Copeland led the Panther linksters with a 38. Grayson Johnston added a 40, Brady Timmerman 42 and Gavin VanDyke a 43 to round out the Panther qualifiers. Brevin VanDyke came in with a 44 and Callen Keegan a 48 for the Panthers.
The Panthers put their 5-0 dual meet record on the line Tuesday as they go to Emerald Hills in Sterling to take on the Newman Comets in what looks to be another hot day.
