Dylan Doyle to Close Out 2026 Outdoor Concert Season in Cambridge October 13

Submitted

Guitarist, singer and songwriter Dylan Doyle will perform at Ca d’Zan House Concerts in Cambridge on Tuesday, October 13th, closing out the venue’s 2026 outdoor concert season with a genre-blending mix of Americana, R&B, funk, blues and soul.

Presented by Crossroads Cultural Connections, the all-ages evening will begin with an optional potluck dinner at 6 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m. Guests who would like to participate in the potluck are invited to bring a dish to share.

Southern born and Northern raised, Doyle has developed a distinctly American sound shaped by influences ranging from Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery and John Mayer to D’Angelo, Bob Dylan, John Prine, The Band, Chris Stapleton, Bill Withers and Roberta Flack.

Raised between rural North Carolina and upstate New York, Doyle was exposed early to a wide range of people, places and experiences. He began performing on stage at 13, just a year after picking up an instrument, and by age 15 was already touring in Memphis and Arkansas, including an appearance at the King Biscuit Blues Festival.

That early time on the road helped shape Doyle as both a musician and storyteller. Performing everywhere from rural towns and dive bars to theaters and city venues, he developed a reputation for connecting with audiences through both his musicianship and his ability to shift seamlessly between subtle, lyrical passages and explosive guitar work.

At 19, shortly after recording Live at the Falcon, Doyle traveled to Ireland for a solo tour. The following year, at age 20, he was inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame, becoming its youngest member at the time.

His sound continued to evolve through time spent in New York City, where he immersed himself in R&B and jazz and began collaborating with a new generation of musicians. That influence became part of his 2021 album, Pleasures of the Damned, which brought together his Americana roots with a broader palette of soul, funk and jazz-inspired ideas.

In 2023, Doyle completed a seven-week residency at Club Groove in Greenwich Village and played more than 200 shows across the Northeast, Midwest and South.

His playing has also drawn praise from veteran musicians. Bill Payne of Little Feat called Doyle’s musicianship “flawless and inventive,” while noting his ability to listen, respond and contribute to the flow of a live performance. Butch Dener, tour manager for The Band, described Doyle simply as having “the real goods.”

Guests should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. A donation of $20 to $30 is suggested.

As the final outdoor concert of the 2026 season at Ca d’Zan House Concerts, the evening offers one last chance this year to gather outside for live music, community and the informal atmosphere that has become a hallmark of the series.

Presented by Crossroads Cultural Connections, this concert continues the organization’s mission of bringing meaningful, high-quality live music experiences to Henry County and surrounding communities.
