He was born on August 19, 1940, in Yorktown, the son of Robert and Lucile (Wolf) Sibley. He married Carol Sauer on December 6, 1996, in Milledgeville. Gary had worked as a truck driver for many years. He had enjoyed planting, gardening and raising a few animals.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; stepson, Jared (Sue) Sauer of Lanark; four step grandchildren: Daniel, Ryan and Drew Sauer and Emily Hammer; two step great grandchildren: Asher and Benny Hammer; sisters: Arvilla Springman, Alice Young, Camella Alexander, Sheila Price, Gloria Grams and Loretta Cassidy; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson John Sauer; sister Audrey Roman and brother, Truman Sibley.
Visitation will be held on Friday October 9, 2026, from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milledgeville. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory.
