Held on the third Monday of every month at 5:00 p.m., The Filling Station welcomes individuals and families to gather for a delicious, home-cooked meal lovingly prepared and served by church volunteers. The meals are held at 817 8th Street in Erie, Illinois.
The Filling Station is about much more than simply filling hungry stomachs. Its mission is to extend God’s love through hearty homemade meals, meaningful fellowship, and Christian kindness. It’s a place where neighbors can come together, friendships can grow, and everyone can experience the warmth of a caring community.
Whether you’re looking for a delicious meal, a little companionship, or simply a friendly face and good conversation, there is a place for you at our table.
You do not need to be a member of Erie United Methodist Church—or any church—to attend. There is no charge, no membership requirement, and no expectations. Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, background, or circumstances.
The dedicated volunteers who make The Filling Station possible believe that sharing a meal is one of the simplest and most meaningful ways to show God’s love in action. Every plate is served with a generous helping of kindness, compassion, and hospitality.
“Our hope is that everyone who walks through our doors leaves with more than a full stomach,” organizers share. “We want them to leave feeling welcomed, valued, and reminded that they are part of a community that cares.”
So mark your calendar for the third Monday of each month, bring a friend, invite a neighbor, or just come as you are. There’s always room for one more at The Filling Station!
