Per Paul’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A private family gathering to celebrate his life will be held. A memorial has been established to Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol.
Paul was born May 3, 1946, in Morrison, IL, the son of Harold E. and Ruth J. (Stuart) Walters. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and attended Morrison High School. He was first married to Patricia Ann Bartz and later married Sharon L. Tiesman on March 19, 1970 in Lyndon, IL. She died January 18, 2012. Paul began his working career at Eddie Schuler Dodge Dealership in Morrison, IL, followed by employment at Lee Paasch Ford Dealership in Clinton, IA. He later worked at Meyers Ford in Sterling before becoming manager of the former Shell Gas Station in Morrison. Most recently, Paul was employed by Metform in Savanna, IL, where he worked until his retirement in 2006. Paul was a member of the Fulton Saddle Club and the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol. He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors.
Survivors include three daughters, Wendy (Dwayne) Davis, Tori (Justin) Eads and Traci (Mark) Heusinkveld all of Morrison, IL; one son, Troy (Erica) Walters of Morrison, IL; grandchildren, Nathan Hutchison and Rachel (Mason) Sitzmore, Chelsea (Morgan) Eads, Joseph (Lauren) Eads, Zackary (Gina Lee) Eads and Jordan Eads, Kyle (Abigail) Heusinkveld and Randi (Justin) Jensen, Drew and Lexi Walters; great-grandchildren, Will, Luke and Grady, Jackson, Beau, Mauve, Hudson, Nolan and one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson on the way; sisters, Rhonda Walters of Lone Tree, IA and Dawn (Robert) Bauer of Fulton, IL; one brother, Harlan (Linda) Walters of Bowie, TX .
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon; one daughter in infancy; one granddaughter, Julia Walters; one sister, Jane Heath; one brother, Phil Walters.
