Gage was born October 18, 2011, in Freeport, IL, to Dylan and Emily (Sisson) Smith. He attended Fulton Schools and had just completed his eighth-grade year, where he worked hard and earned honor roll recognition. Gage was an active young man who participated in basketball, wrestling, and baseball. Gage enjoyed spending time outdoors, skiing, fishing, camping, and hunting – where he was proud to have gotten his first buck. Like many his age, he loved playing video games and spending time with friends. Above all, Gage cherished time with his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his mother, Emily Smith; father, Dylan Smith; older brother, Gavin Smith; little sisters, Remy Smith and Hadley Smith; maternal grandparents, Lori (Kevin) Law of Savanna, IL and Tommy (Hope) Sisson of Ringgold, GA; paternal grandparents, Nicole (Rick) Hartley of Fulton, IL; paternal great-grandparents, Edna Arnold, Glen Melvin and Rick (Deb) Hartley; uncles, Thom Sisson and Logan Smith; aunt, Amanda Wolfe; along with many great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Judy (Dennis) Cox, Richard Walker, Mary Ruth “Nana” and William Sisson, and Merle and Florence Law; and his paternal great-grandfather, Gary Arnold, Sr.
