Prophetstown Lions wrap up season of giving

By Sarah Ford, AP Staff Writer

The Prophetstown Lions Club's "Toys 4 Kids" were delivered to 27 families and 76 children this year, ranging in age from infant to high school.

The Lions are grateful for all that donated, shopped, wrapped, and delivered gifts to help make special Christmas for local families. Along with the toys, they delivered 20 poinsettias to homebound residents of the community.

The Lions try to help as many families as they can each year. They rely on local churches to provide a list of those less fortunate, and the community’s help to make the gift-giving possible.

This year, the Lions are behind on donations and still need money to cover the cost of their efforts to bring children clothing and gifts for their Christmas celebrations. If you are looking for a charity to support, they would greatly appreciate your help. Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box #6 or dropped off at Farmers National Bank by direct donation to the Lions’ account.

The Prophetstown Lions Club thanks the community for their donations and support – they couldn’t make it happen without everyone’s generosity!
