Community Coming Together for First Annual Hope on the Fairway Golf Outing to Support Pediatric Cancer Families

Submitted

On Saturday, July 25th, the Millie Moo Foundation will host its first annual Hope on the Fairway Golf Outing at Byron Hills Golf Course, Port Byron, Illinois.

The sold-out event will welcome 144 golfers and community supporters for a day of golf, raffles, a silent auction, and a live auction benefiting pediatric cancer families. Community members are invited to attend the afternoon festivities beginning at 12:30 p.m., with the live auction beginning immediately following lunch, around 2:00 p.m.

What began as a family’s promise to honor six-month-old Millie DeClercq has grown into a nonprofit that has assisted more than 57 families nationwide with mortgage, rent, utilities, groceries, travel, and other essential expenses while children undergo cancer treatment.

In just 10 months, the Millie Moo Foundation has grown from an idea born out of unimaginable loss into a nonprofit that has assisted more than 57 pediatric cancer families, distributed over $47,000 in direct financial assistance, and received applications from families across the United States—from Hawaii to Maine. Every dollar distributed allows parents to focus less on financial hardship and more on their child’s treatment and recovery.

The Millie Moo Foundation provides assistance with mortgage payments, rent, utility bills, groceries, fuel & travel expenses, household expenses, and other essential financial needs related to pediatric cancer treatment. They have partnered with the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital and OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois (Peoria). While these partnerships account for 68% of all assistance distributed, the Foundation proudly serves eligible pediatric cancer families receiving treatment at children’s hospitals across the United States.

The Millie Moo Foundation’s impact as of July 2026:

  • 57+ pediatric cancer families assisted nationwide
  • More than $47,000 in direct financial assistance distributed
  • Applications received from families across the United States—from Hawaii to Maine
  • 68% of all financial assistance has supported families receiving care at our partner hospitals: University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital and OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois (Peoria).
