Established in 1876, this dedicated volunteer department has faithfully protected the residents of Morrison and the surrounding area through fires, medical emergencies, rescues, severe weather events, and countless other calls for help. This year, the department proudly celebrated its 150th Anniversary, marking a remarkable legacy of service with a community celebration that honored both its rich history and the firefighters who continue to answer the call today.
The Morrison Fire Department is made up of highly trained volunteers who are ready to respond at a moment’s notice, day or night. Their commitment extends far beyond emergency response. Throughout the year, they participate in fire prevention education, community events, fundraisers, and public safety initiatives, building strong relationships with residents of all ages.
Reaching a sesquicentennial anniversary is an incredible accomplishment that reflects generations of selfless individuals who have dedicated their time, skills, and hearts to serving others. From historic fire equipment to today’s modern apparatus and training, the department has continually evolved while remaining true to its mission: protecting lives, property, and our community.
