The EP Panther baseball team dropped their 10th in a row on a beautiful Thursday afternoon at Clinton LumberKings stadium in Clinton.

The boys fell 3-0 to the Morrison Mustangs who just won the NUIC Championship earlier in the week. The Panthers are now 5-13-1 with a week left in the regular season.

The Panthers gifted their visitors on the scoreboard committing three errors in the top of the first leading to 2 runs. Starting pitcher Braedyn Frank was able to shut down the threat by striking out the last two batters to keep it close. Frank singled with one out in the Panther first but was forced at second and a strikeout ended the Panther threat.

Frank and Morrison starter Carson White did an excellent job of controlling the contest through the next three innings. The Panthers did get some base runners but every time they got runners in scoring position, strikeouts ended the uprising.

Frank only allowed one baserunner who reached on a dropped fly ball in the next nine batters he faced.

In the Mustang fifth, a walk and a ground out put a runner on second and he scored on another Panther error to make it 3-0, all unearned runs.

The last Panther rally was in the bottom of the sixth as Gavin Van Dyke reached on an error, stole second, went to third on a passed ball but was stranded there as two strikeouts ended the inning.

Sawyer Copeland and Alastaire Sweetser were the only Panthers to reach base twice as each had a single and walk in their their trips to the plate.

The Panthers get another chance to break their losing streak as the Mendota Trojans come to Prophetstown Friday for a 4:30 contest in a resumption of suspended game on May 4th with the Panthers trailing 1-0 in the second inning.
