Prophetstown is Proud to Read Program

This is an incentive reading program which will run throughout the summer of 2026, June 1st-August 1st. The program is built to encourage kids to read through incentives which have been kindly donated by our local area businesses. Children that sign up for the Summer Reading Program and are committed to read throughout the summer months will be presented with a tracking sheet (that the library or a parent can hold on to) meant to keep track of points earned from each book read.

All books can be checked out at Henry C. Adams Memorial Library and tracked by the Library Director. After reading the book, the child will have their parent sign the tracking paper, and as the child turns in the book the librarian will add the points to the tracker. The tracker has a maximum of 30 points for the Summer Program. Gold Level will complete the whole tracker at 30 points and above. Silver Level will complete at least 15 points of the tracker. When the child has completed the tracking card with their books read and signed by parent or librarian, they will then receive a certificate to receive a local area business reward. Please follow us on Facebook to see a sneak peek of businesses that have generously donated to our Reading Program. The reading program ends by August 1st with all certificates to be spent by October 1st. Please stop by the Prophetstown Library for details and to sign up for our Summer Reading Program.
