PLT National Honor Society welcomes 16 new members

By Sarah Ford, AP Staff Writer

Congratulations to these 16 PLT students who were inducted into the National Honor Society earlier this month:

Gracelyn Abell, Brayden Beltier, Kennedy Buck, Dena Cox, Owen Farral, Blake Geuns, Madison Hill, Abi Jensen, Brooke Lalley, Olivia Megli, Avery Olinger, Olivia Purvis, Sydney Schwartz, Reagan Sibley, Chloe Slock, and Mya Weidel.

To be chosen for the largest, oldest, and most prestigious student recognition program in the nation, students have to submit an application and an essay. A council of faculty members then review the documents and select new inductees based on the four pillars that NHS is built on: Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service.

Counselor Ida Holper is the NHS faculty advisor for the PLT High School Chapter. NHS members are involved with various events throughout the school year such as blood drives, collection drives, and service projects.
