Tickets are $5 each and will be available from team members Labor Day through Veterans Day, with the drawing on November 11th. The team will also be at Prophetstown Proud’s Fourth Friday event on August 28th in the vacant lot next to Blooms-A-Latte from 5-7 p.m. Only 500 tickets will be sold for the fundraiser, with all proceeds to support the competitive youth clay target team for 6th-12th grade students.
The team thanks the following sponsors of the prize: Doug Koehler of Prophetstown for a whole hog, Galloway’s Como Processing, and Drolema Arnold appliances in Morrison for the freezer. The prize package is valued at over a $1,000.
Tickets are available from trap team members or Coach Daryl Drennen of Prophetstown, who can be reached at 815-718-3074. The mission statement of the Prophets Trap Team is to “introduce students to the shooting sports and teach them firearm safety, marksmanship, and sportsmanship.”
